About Us
The Department of Computer Technology at Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) is dedicated to shaping the next generation of technology innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders in Ghana and beyond. Established in 2007 under the Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology, the department has steadily grown into a hub for cutting-edge ICT education, research, and industry collaboration.
We provide a complete academic pathway that meets the needs of both fresh learners and working professionals. Our programmes include Certificate courses, Diplomas, Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), and our flagship Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Technology.
The BTech in Computer Technology equips graduates with the knowledge to design, implement, and manage computer applications, networks, and systems. Our curriculum blends theory and practical experience, empowering graduates to thrive in careers such as software development, network administration, database management, and emerging areas like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Beyond academics, the department fosters innovation and creativity. Students participate in hackathons, software exhibitions, and collaborative research projects, often in partnership with industry leaders.
